Herzeloyde - LOADOUT
Design, Illustration & Art Direction
For this album, Herzeloyde set a clear direction: a dark, aggressive dubstep/trap/electronic record that needed a visual identity with the same weight.
We first explored a graffiti handstyle typographic approach, but it didn’t capture the atmosphere strongly enough, so I shifted to gothic letterforms. Gothic type brought the right mix of horror, unease, and west coast visual language, which suited the project’s tone. From there, I reworked the title into biomechanical forms, imagining the letters as alien weaponry. The aim was to make the design instantly legible from a distance, while revealing mechanical detail up close that echoed the music’s intensity and complexity.
